Tel Aviv’s Beating Heart – Ben Gurion Blvd
As a proud resident of Central Tel Aviv, I walk my neighborhood each day and appreciate the many places to see and be seen and can’t help but get excited about it. Whether a new development, restaurant, gallery, cafe, boutique shop, or event, it is obvious what Central Tel Aviv has is a hotbed of cultural happenings.
One of the many things I love so much about Tel Aviv and my neighborhood in particular is the many different locations and scenes. An ordinary afternoon stroll can turn out to be out of the ordinary just by observing the different colors and vibes.
My favorite location is Ben Gurion Blvd. The Ben Gurion / Dizengoff junction on a weekday afternoon can be noisy, vibrant and filled with people and no matter the hour you will most probably stand in line at ‘Tamara’ juices for your favorite freshly squeezed juice or shake. The sandwich shop ‘kiosk’ just across the street offers great sandwiches and sitting on a bench whilst reading the morning paper and having an early morning coffee at the coffee shop ‘kiosk’ on the Ben Gurion / Ben Yehuda junction, is a great (and trendy) way to start the day.
What is it about this part of town that makes it so attractive? The diverse population is astonishing – from young professionals riding their bikes side-by-side with new Mommies pushing down their strollers, to elderly couple romantically sitting on a bench and holding hands. And the options are abundant… from regular Friday events on the “Shdera” to its many famous “kiosks”; great café’s, restaurants and night life are highly concentrated here. So if you’re all about the “to see and be seen” – The Ben Gurion Blvd is the place to be.
