The time has come to get your feet wet and dive into different apartment options your agent has listed for you; but in order to make the most out of your work together, it’s important to know how to work along with your agent and what to look for when viewing different apartments.

Share your thoughts and feelings with your agent on each apartment that you saw together; the more feedback the agent gets the better the chances are your agent will show you apartments that are precise and in-line with what you are looking for.

It won’t happen in a day. A good real estate broker will try to show you as many properties as possible. An excellent real estate broker will hand pick just the right one’s for you whilst eliminating all the rest.

While some homes are more flexible in viewings, others might be limited; make sure to get as much information as possible on each of the apartments before scheduling a viewing. Ask your agent for pictures, floor plans (if possible) and a detailed description of the apartment, the building and its amenities. If possible, take a stroll around the neighborhood and see the building from outside; you wouldn’t want to waste anyone’s time by viewing an apartment in a location you won’t consider and in a building you wouldn’t want to live in.

When viewing an apartment, your agent should be prepared with all relevant information and ready to answer any questions you may have. Let’s face it, people are different and we don’t always see things eye-to-eye, so if the seller’s décor is not what you’d consider décor, it’s important that you look pass that. If the apartment has the potential to fit your needs, then stay focused on. Look out for any faults and make sure to ask key questions regarding the home’s infrastructures, the building, neighbors, etc. Take a look around the building and get a feel of the location and look out for access to shopping and transportation.

The best time to view an apartment is during the day; but, to get a true sense of the place, you should try and schedule a second viewing at a different time (afternoon or evening). That way you’ll get a feeling of the apartment and environment both day & night.
